Setelah pembacaan sumpah, Yudo langsung tandatangan surat disaksikan Menteri Prabowo. Sebelum diambil sumpah jabatan, Jokowi sempat menanyakan kepada Laksamana Yudo apakah bersedia diambil sumpahnya menurut agama Islam. “Bersedia,” jawab Yudo.
Yudo pun mengikuti sumpah jabatan yang lebih dulu dibacakan oleh Jokowi. ‘Demi Allah saya bersumpah, bahwa saya akan setia kepada Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia, yang berdasarkan Pancasila dan UUD RI 1945 serta akan menjalankan segala peraturan perundang-undangan dengan selurus-lurusnya, demi darma bakti saya kepada bangsa dan negara.

Jokowi mesti mengulang kembali kalimat terakhir sumpah tersebut. “Bahwa saya, akan menjunjung tinggi sumpah prajurit,” kata Jokowi. Akhirnya, Yudo mengucap sumpahnya sesuai dengan yang disampaikan Jokowi. “Bahwa saya, akan menjunjung tinggi sumpah prajurit,” kata Yudo.
Dalam acara pelantikan Panglima TNI, hadir Wakil Presiden Ma’ruf Amin dan Ketua Dewan Pengarah Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (BPIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto serta Menteri Koordinator Politik, Hukum dan Keamanan (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.
Lalu, hadir juga Jenderal Andika Perkasa memakai baju dinas warna hijau dan Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Kemudian, Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (KSAD) Jenderal TNI Dudung Abdurachman dan Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara (KSAU) Marsekal Fadjar Prasetyo.
Selanjutnya, Ketua Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) Anwar Usman bersama Ketua Mahkamah Agung (MA) M. Syarifuddin dan Ketua DPR RI Puan Maharani juga hadir.
